BY-LAW 5

 

MEMBERSHIP DUES

 

Section (1)

The membership dues in each Local for members and deductees at large of this Component shall not be less than the amount of the per capita fee payable to this Component, as determined by the National Convention.

 

Section (2)

Members and deductees of this Component shall also be required to pay the dues established by Sub-section (1) of Section 19 of the Constitution of the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

 

Section (3)

Where payroll deduction has been authorized by any member or deductee, deductions shall be made by the payroll authorization method employed by the Central Pay Office or other paying authorities.

 

Section (4)

Any Local may have an additional amount of dues, as authorized by a two-thirds majority vote of its membership in attendance at an annual meeting or at a special meeting called for that purpose, deducted and collected by this Component in the manner prescribed by Section (3) of this By-Law.  Such additional dues shall be rebated by this Component to the Local concerned.

 

Section (5)

Any Local may change the additional amount of dues as authorized by a two-thirds majority vote at an annual meeting or special meeting, provided one month notice has been given to the general membership.

 

Section (6)

Where payroll deduction has been authorized by and paid on behalf of a member, the per capita rebate on behalf of such member shall be due and payable to the Local concerned, subject to the provisions of By-Law 7, Section (11) of these By-Laws.
