REGULATION 8 - NATIONAL DIRECTORS RESPONSIBILITIES

This Regulation shall be known as the Regulation governing the Allocation of Responsibilities of National Directors. It is understood that this regulation in no way alters the current structure of the National Council as set forth in the By-Laws of this Component, but is intended to allocate an area of responsibility to certain National Directors in order to ensure that all members of the Natural Resources Union have input into the National Council via their allocated National Directors.

8.01 The National Director (B.C.) shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located in the province of British Columbia and in the Yukon. (Amended as per April 2001 National Council resolution)

8.02 The National Director (Edmonton) shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located in Edmonton and the North West Territories, Iqualuit and Nunavut excluding any members assigned to Calgary Locals. (Amended as per April 2001 National Council resolution)

8.03 The National Director (Calgary ISPG) shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta excluding those members represented by the National Director (Edmonton).

8.04 The 1st National Vice-President of the Component shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located in the provinces of Manitoba and Ontario excluding those members represented by National Directors in the National Capital Region.

8.05 The National Director (Sherbrooke) shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located in the Province of Quebec excluding those members represented by National Directors in the National Capital Region and the National Director of the Canadian Space Agency located in St. Hubert.

8.06 The National Director (Halifax-Dartmouth) shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located in the Maritime Provinces which shall include Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.

8.07 The National Directors (National Capital Region) shall be responsible for all members of this Component in their respective Locals. For greater certainty the National Director, Local 70081 shall be responsible for all members allocated to Local 70081; the National Director, Local 70082 shall be responsible for all members allocated to Local 70082; the National Director, Local 70083 shall be responsible for all members allocated to Local 70083; the National Director, Local 70084 shall be responsible for all members allocated to Local 70084; the National Director, Local 70085 shall be responsible for all members allocated to Local 70085, etc. (amended as per April 2001 National Council resolution).

8.08 The National Director (St. Hubert) shall be responsible for representing all members of this Component located at the Canadian Space Agency, St. Hubert, PQ.

8.09 The costs associated with the representation of members in the responsibility regions as outlined in this regulation shall be borne by that National Director's Local.

8.10 The responsibilities as outlined in this regulation shall be automatically modified by exclusion should a Local in any assigned responsibility region be formed and be entitled to a National Director position in accordance with the By-Laws of this Component.
